A meatball a day!

Hi lovely people,

Dorien and I were in Antwerp last week, to visit the different PR agencies were we could discover the new trends and brands for next fall and winter. After that long day we really needed some food to restore our powers! And what is a better place in Antwerp to enjoy a lovely meal then Balls & Glory?

ballsgloryII.jp_-e1381151828684Balls & Glory is located at De markt in FelixPakhuis, close to the MAS. We can sure say that this is a lovely location. Not only the exterior is pretty, but also the interior is lovely. The long wooden tables filled with grapes in a bowl, a bottle of water and napkins are really cozy looking. The nice reading corner is a lovely place to sit back, relax and enjoy a good lemonade. Another good thing to know is that Wim Ballieu, owner of Balls & Glory, also recently won a Golden Palm for this innovative restaurant concept.

Make sure you definitely try out one of their delicious meatballs the next time you’re in Antwerp, Bruges or Ghent. Because: ‘a meatball a day, keeps the doctor away’! Take a look on their site to check out the right address and opening hours. Big thumbs up for Wim, and I hope one day he would like to seduce Hasselt with his great Balls & Glory-conceptFW 14-008

H3500

Dear people,

I’m finally back after my two weeks of vacation. And as you all know, I’m always up for new and inspiring concepts. That’s why I want to introduce you all to H3500.

H3500

Our home is a translation of our personality. We want to show people the way we live or want to live. We want to share the feeling of our home to the world. Not many people know that this kind of communication starts with our house number. That is why I want to share this wonderful H3500 project with you all!

Studio Hectica had the great idea to change the boring house numbers, in vibrant and attractive graphic pieces. That’s why they create a personal house number, that perfectly fits your way of living. They also make sure they use materials and techniques specially chosen for your house number. This with the right typeface and a new personal house number is born.

We can surely say that these are house numbers made with care and love!
Thumbs up for this great idea! If you are interested in a personal house number, just check their site here!

A masterly dilemma..

Dear people,

After Tim Van Steenbergen and Marina Yee, the time was right for Pieter Stockmans to collaborate with Aristide. Aristide is an editor and distributor of high quality furniture fabrics and decoration fabrics since 1979. With his many experience, Pieter Stockmans was ready to take the challenge to design some fabrics for the Aristide collection. The result of this collaboration is very sophisticated and timeless. His well know motives and beige and blue colors are things you can recognize in this collection. I also had the chance to meet Pieter Stockmans and I must say that not only his work but also his personality are both really great.

After some talking about his fabric collection for Aristide and his wonderful porcelain collection he also offered me his book ” Pieter Stockmans, a masterly dilemma”, that tells the story of many of his works from 2004 till now.

Pieter

If you ever have some time when you are in Genk, you should really visit the studio of Pieter Stockmans. To feel the magic of his wonderful and well designed porcelain. The stories that Pieter Stockmans told us in the studio really helped me understanding the whole idea behind the fabric collection.

So I really want to say a special thanks to Pieter, it was really nice to meet you and it was great talking to you!

‘Deconstructed. Reimagined.’

Hi lovely people,

As you guys already know, I have a weakness for art and architecture! And what can make me more happy than a combination of these two? That’s right, nothing! That’s why I want to show you this series of pictures from Cory Stevens.

Cory Stevens

Cory Stevens is a Canadian photographer. He made a series of pictures named ‘Deconstructed. Reimagined.’. In this series of pictures he turns normal everyday monuments and buildings into interesting images. Different facades, windows, ceilings and towers look really cool thanks to the kaleidoscopic effect. Cory Stevens really did a great job with this series of pictures! It’s always nice to see how art and architecture been brought together in an harmonic combination. So watch and enjoy!

BucharestBetween al the books, I also took some time to go on vacation with my boyfriend. I really needed a week just for myself to relax and to have a good time. We really had a lovely time in Bucharest! Here are some pictures of the trip we made. They aren’t very “professional”, but that is because it wasn’t always allowed to take pictures so many of the pictures were secretly taken with my phone.
