Hi lovely people,
Dorien and I were in Antwerp last week, to visit the different PR agencies were we could discover the new trends and brands for next fall and winter. After that long day we really needed some food to restore our powers! And what is a better place in Antwerp to enjoy a lovely meal then Balls & Glory?
Balls & Glory is located at De markt in FelixPakhuis, close to the MAS. We can sure say that this is a lovely location. Not only the exterior is pretty, but also the interior is lovely. The long wooden tables filled with grapes in a bowl, a bottle of water and napkins are really cozy looking. The nice reading corner is a lovely place to sit back, relax and enjoy a good lemonade. Another good thing to know is that Wim Ballieu, owner of Balls & Glory, also recently won a Golden Palm for this innovative restaurant concept.
Make sure you definitely try out one of their delicious meatballs the next time you’re in Antwerp, Bruges or Ghent. Because: ‘a meatball a day, keeps the doctor away’! Take a look on their site to check out the right address and opening hours. Big thumbs up for Wim, and I hope one day he would like to seduce Hasselt with his great Balls & Glory-concept
Hi lovely people,
Yesterday I had the chance to discover the new exhibition in the Fashion Museum of Antwerp with a few fellow bloggers. We had a great evening, talking to each other and taking a look at this wonderful exhibition for the first time.
The exhibition “Birds of Paradise” is an ode to the plumes and feathers in fashion. Plumes and feathers have always been a sign of beauty and preciousness. Like by princesses and queens to express their femininity by using feathered folding fans when going to a ball.
For designers, it’s always been interesting to use the feather as a sign of freedom and lightness. Thierry Mugler used these feathers to create his own “bird woman”, a silhouette with the form of a butterfly.
Alexander McQueen is also one of the designers whose work is shown at the exhibition. With his own interpretation of the swan Lake, a design based on the duality between the white, good, swan and the black, bad, swan!
I was impressed by the different silhouettes and the lovely scenography of the exhibition by Bob Verhelst. I also want to thank Belmodo and MoMu Antwerp for this lovely evening.
It’s still possible to visit the exhibition till the 24th of August.
It’s been a week now, since the tote bag giveaway ended! But I didn’t had time because I had some really busy days. I went to the opening of the JEFF Antwerp, saw some realy promising designers at the S2H001W3 Fashion Show and made pictures of the dress I made with Nikki! So don’t forget to check out all these blog posts about my last few bussy days! But finally today I had some time to pick out the lucky winner of the tote bag giveaway. I was surprised by the succes of my first giveaway, so I want to thank everybody that participated!
So now le moment suprême! The moment everybody was waiting for!
Congratulations EVI !!
It looks like it’s your lucky day! You will receive the tote bag as soon as possible, have fun with it!

Hi design lovers,
Antwerp is well known for his trendy shops and great concept stores! And since the first of june, we can add another beautiful store to that list. My friend Melissa and I went to Antwerp to say HI to the new JEFF Antwerp.
JEFF Antwerp is a beautiful new concept store filled with lovely interieur pieces and great artwork. This combination of art and photography with simple but beautiful design makes this store a real feast for the eye. That’s because Jef Coopmans, the owner of the store, wanted a store were you only can buy “nice things”. I think the Reversed Volumes by Mischer’Traxler, delicious Champagne, good smelling beauty products, furniture by Discipline and other lovely pieces translates his idea very wel. So I really want to congratulate Jef for his hard work! Thumbs up for this great new hotspot at the Volkstraat 9 in Antwerp!
The store is open from tuesday till saturday from 11:00 till 18:30. So the next time you plan to visit Antwerp, make sure you check out this store! Also don’t forget to like their facebook-page, to stay in touch about upcomming new art and design collections!
lots of love
In this blogpost I want to talk about my day trip to Antwerp last saturday. I went to the Contemporary Fashion Days with my dear friend and fashion blogger (www.fashion-freaks.be) Dorien! We had such a fun time traveling to Antwerp!
Once we arrived we started our hunt on designer clothes with Dries Van Noten. There were some really nice pieces and it was great to take a closer look on these clothes. Dorien tryed on a pair of sandles, but she wasn’t very convinced of this pair of shoes so we had to leave them behind.
Our next stop was Delvaux. Delvaux is a wonderfull brand! I’m in love with all their
designs despite of the fact that i’m a guy! I also saw a lovely briefcase but he was a little to expensive for me. Dorien found this lovely Delvaux shopper bag and took it home!
last but not the least we went to Raf Simons. I’m such a big fan of his work for Dior so I was really excited to search between the last pieces of his previous collections. I tryed on 6 pieces, and 5 of them looked great on me! It was really hard to choose because I could only take one piece home. I finally made my choise and I hope I can show the piece I bought in a new outfit post soon.
I really want to thank Dorien for this lovely day!
Esprit is working on their image. Renewing their concept stores in Antwerp was a great step forward. So I went to Antwerp to take a look and I must say that I’m really impressed. I’m in love with the look of both stores.
Both stores look really fresh and homey. They used different sorts of wood and bamboo to create a peaceful setting. There are also different cozy places inside of the store where you can sit and take a break for a moment. Put that together with some nice details, like a classy eames chair and printed wooden panels, and you get a lovely end result. Every little detail makes these two stores amazing and bring back a piece of their Californian roots!
Esprit is bringing quality clothing for woman, man and children at an affordable price. It’s the place to be for timeless basic pieces. Quality and design going well together. Thumbs up for Esprit!
I had a lovely time in Antwerp yesterday. First Katrien and I did some shopping before going to the A.CITYLIFE night. A.CITLIFE was a mix of different interesting exhibitors. There were also some known faces who came to learn us some interesting things!
One of them was Filip Deslee, known from VIER. He gave a presentation about interior design as sort of architecture. He learned us that, with some smart tricks, you can change your interior to something new and refreshing.
Also Veerle Dobbelaere was there for some tips to personalize your table when friends or family are coming over for dinner. How to make your guests feel comfortable and welcome.
Last but not least, I had a lovely chat with Emma. Emma is a flemish fashion and lifestyle guru. She came to give the people who wanted some fashion advice. Make sure you don’t forget to check out her blog!
